Jay O'Jay is a horseman who specializes in developing a respectful relationship and connection between horse and rider. His passion is the Western discipline of Reining, but through his clinics, videos and demonstrations, he aspires to teach "transferable skills" to riders and horse owners of all disciplines and experience. Those skills, based on the ability to earn respect and gain control of the horse, are the central elements in Jay's "common sense" approach to his training program.

With more than 30 years of experience, Jay has acquired a broad spectrum of horse knowledge through his personal pursuits such as back country guiding, colt starting and professional horse training. He has sought out instruction from numerous renowned trainers and coaches to develop exceptional skill levels in both groundwork and saddlework. Through extensive study of equine behaviour and by being a student of the horse, Jay formed the foundation of his training methods based on understanding how horses think and react.

Willow Acres Equestrian Centre is pleased to announce our 2010 Winter Dressage Schooling Show Series!

• Walk-Trot Dressage Canada Test "A"
• Training Level Test 1
• Training Level Test 2
• First Level Test 1
• First Level Test 2 (Primary)
• Para Test Of Choice

JUDGE TO BE ANNOUNCED. Higher levels and/or different tests are avilable upon request. Please note if raining tests will be ridden in a 20x40 indoor arena. All riders wil ride through the test twice.

Rules and Regulations:

• Cost is $40.00 per test, plus HST (includes two rides)
• Tests are available online at the Horse Council BC website
• Equine Canada rules apply: Boots and bandages allowed, Helmets mandatory, Braiding optional.

Willow Acres Welcomes Mr. Georges Malleroni For A Two Day Workshop

Willow Acres Equestrian Centre together with Burgi Rommel Classical Dressage Training are proud to present a two day workshop with Mr. Georges Malleroni from Alcainca Riding Centre in Portugal.

This will be Georges Malleroni’s second trip to Canada and he is truly one of the classically trained masters of dressage. Mr. Malleroni spent 10 years studying under the late Nuno Oliviera and his down to earth and wonderfully clear teaching style is popular with riders all over the world.

We are honored to have Mr Malleroni come to Willow Acres and hope you will take the opportunity to audit or participate in this clinic.

~ Dates: Wednesday, Nov. 3rd and Thursday Nov. 4th 2010

BC Summer Games A Great Success!

2010 saw another successful BC Summer Games. Held at Thunderbird Show Park in Langley. The summer games are more than just another "show". They leave lasting memories, friendships, learning opportunities!!!

We are proud of all youth that competed and are especially proud of Lindsay on Saffire, Brook on Boo and their trainer Rayme for bringing home the team gold and an individual silver medal in the Dressage First Level Freestyle !!!!!!!!!!!

Some more fun from our Games Day and Barbeque back in September... definitely a new concept to some of the kids (and horses) but everyone was eager to have a go!!
